ทำไมต้อง A Storymaker Program

ปัจจุบันคนไทยสามารถพูดภาษาอังกฤษได้เพียงร้อยละ 10 ของประชากรทั้งหมด อยู่ในอันดับ 5 ของประเทศในภูมิภาคอาเซียน โดยสาเหตุที่ทำให้คนไทยพูดภาษาอังกฤษได้น้อย คือ การขาดแรงจูงใจในการใช้ภาษาอังกฤษ อีกทั้งภาษาอังกฤษไม่ใช่ภาษาราชการของไทย ทำให้ผู้ที่สนใจภาษาอังกฤษมีเฉพาะบางสายอาชีพที่ได้ใช้ภาษาอังกฤษกับชาวต่างชาติเท่านั้น (Siam EduNews,2017) ข่าวข้างต้นไม่ใช่เรื่องใหม่ หากแต่เป็นปัญหาคู่คนไทยมาช้านาน ซึ่งในปัจจุบันผู้เรียนมีโอกาสมากมายในการเข้าถึงสื่อการสอนทางสื่อออนไลน์เพื่อพัฒนาตนเอง แต่ตัวเลขความสามารถของคนไทยในการสื่อสารภาษาต่างประเทศยังเพิ่มขึ้นไม่มากนัก เราบ้านปันแสงในส่วนหนึ่งของบทบาทนักพัฒนาการศึกษาได้กลับมาถามตนเองว่าองค์กรที่ส่งเสริมการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษผ่านธรรมชาติเช่นเราจะมีบทบาทอย่างไรได้บ้าง

ความจริงแล้วการพูดภาษาอังกฤษให้เป็นนั้นไม่ได้ยากอย่างที่คิด เพียงแต่อาศัยความกล้า ยอมรับข้อผิดพลาด และเรียนรู้เพื่อพัฒนา จากการประสบการณ์ที่ผ่านมา การฝึกภาษาอังกฤษที่ดีที่สุดคือฝึกสื่อสารผ่านกิจกรรมประจำวันและสิ่งรอบตัว หากยังไม่เพียงพอ เราจะต้องหาวิธีใดก็ได้เพื่อนำพาตัวเองไปอยู่ในสภาวะแวดล้อมที่เอื้อต่อการฝึกฝน ซึ่งจำเป็นอย่างมาก เช่นร้านอาหารชาวต่างชาติ ทัวร์ หรือสถานที่ต่างๆที่สามารถพบเจอชาวต่างชาติได้ รวมถึงการบินไปใช้ชีวิตในต่างประเทศ อย่างไรก็ตามสิ่งเหล่านี้ต้องใช้กำลังใจและความพยายามอย่างมาก บ้านปันแสงจึงคิดค้นนวัตกรรมการเรียนเพื่อตั้งเป้าหมายให้กับผู้เรียน นั่นคือผู้สื่อสารของดีในท้องถิ่น โดยใช้วิธีการแบบ Local Tour Guide ภายใต้แนวคิด English on the Farm เข้ามาดำเนินกระบวนการเพื่อให้ผู้เรียนเห็นเป้าหมายที่ชัดเจนขึ้นร่วมกันและวัดผลสัมฤทธิ์ได้อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น

การเป็นนักถ่ายทอดของดีในท้องถิ่นนั้น จำเป็นต้องใช้ทักษะชีวิตเข้ามาปรับใช้หลายประการ เช่น การใช้ภาษาต่างประเทศ การคิดวิเคราะห์ การสื่อสาร การอยู่ร่วมกับผู้อื่น การแก้ปัญหาเฉพาะหน้า และการทำงานเป็นทีม ซึ่งจะส่งผลให้ผู้เรียนมีความคิดสร้างสรรค์และจุดประกายความคิดต่อยอดเพื่อสิ่งที่ยิ่งใหญ่ได้ด้วยตนเอง รวมถึงการนำภาษาที่สองไปปรับใช้ในชีวิตประจำวันได้อย่างมั่นใจมากขึ้น

แนวคิดการเรียน

ทุกที่คือห้องเรียนและทุกสิ่งคือครู โดยเน้นการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษผ่านการตั้งเป้าหมายที่ชัดเจน ซึ่งเป็นทักษะชีวิตรูปแบบหนึ่ง ผู้เรียนต้องมีระเบียบวินัยในการเรียน และหมั่นฝึกฝนจากสถานการณ์จริง รวมถึงเน้นการแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้ในห้องเรียน

จุดประสงค์

o มุ่งเน้นให้ผู้เรียนมีความกล้าที่จะสื่อสาร กล้าที่จะปรับปรุงและพัฒนาข้อผิดพลาด และกล้าที่จะเรียนรู้สิ่งใหม่

o มุ่งเน้นให้ผู้เรียนตั้งเป้าหมายในชีวิต และรู้จักตัวตนของตัวเอง

o มุ่งเน้นให้ผู้เรียนใช้ภาษาอังกฤษในชีวิตประจำวันและต่อยอดสู่ธุรกิจหรือกิจกรรมที่ตนเองสนใจอยู่

สำหรับผู้ใหญ่ 19-40 ปี ทุกวันเสาร์เช้า สำหรับเด็กอายุ 6-12 ปี ทุกวันเสาร์บ่าย

การบริการ

มีอุปกรณ์การเรียน ขนมและเครื่องดื่ม หลังจากเรียนจบคอร์สแล้ว สามารถกลับมาลงเรียนใหม่ได้ ในราคาลด 50% เพราะเนื้อหาจะปรับเปลี่ยนตามพื้นที่จริงที่นักเรียนเลือก ทำให้ได้เรียนรู้เรื่องใหม่และเป็นการส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวชุมชนอีกช่องทางหนึ่ง

เงื่อนไข

เนื่องจากการเรียนลงพื้นที่ในภาคปฏิบัติต้องอาศัยการจดจำเป็นคำศัพท์ในระดับหนึ่ง ดังนั้น นักเรียนจำเป็นต้องเรียนรู้คำศัพท์ที่จำเป็น หลักการออกเสียง และประโยคอย่างง่ายได้ โดยดูจากคลิปวีดีโอที่ส่งให้

จะสามารถเปิดเรียนได้เมื่อมีนำนักเรียนครบ 8 คนขึ้นไปในระบบ full course

หากนักเรียนบางคนสามารถ visit ในแต่ละอาทิตย์ ได้

การชำระค่าเรียน

สามารถชำระผ่านเลขบัญชี 035-1-96590-8 ชื่อ น.ส.วีรากานต์ เก่งกาจ และ น.ส. วิภาวี เชื่อมสกุล ธนาคารกสิกรไทย สาขามีโชคพลาซ่า

หากแต่ละคอร์สมีนักเรียนจำนวน 8 คน ขึ้นไป จึงจะเริ่มเรียน หากไม่ครบ จะขออนุญาตเปิดรับคนไปอีก 2 อาทิตย์

เมื่อครบจำนวนแล้ว ในกรณีที่ผู้เรียนชำระเงินค่าเรียน แล้วยกเลิกก่อนเริ่มคอร์สเรียน ททางเราขออนุญาตคืนเงินจำนวน 50% ของยอดเงินทั้งหมด

Volunteer Program, Chiang Mai_ It's unbelievable until you experience it.

I used to have an idea about having volunteer for our communities to learn how Thai people live in a sustainable way. But this idea is not yet gone since we had one volunteer from Portugal,Carlos. He is a volunteer teacher in Nong khai the northern part of Thailand. He had spent time in Thailand for more than 1 year already and wanted to experience some real excursion. Let’s do it. Just now another enthusiastic girl from California Jai plays her volunteer role with us at Mokmuan Cafe (Sansai District, Chiang Mai, Thailand). She is active, nice, friendly, lovely, open minded and adaptable. She is young and wants to learn such a real life experience rather than sitting in the classroom.

She told me that she is abnormal because she doesn’t want to follow the majority of people. After high school, rather than entering university, she applies to community college which is less academic but she thinks it is expected to make the same result of human capital development. Not thinking too much, she mainly takes action and read what she is interested.

Now, she is in Thailand, she takes many courses such as meditation, organic farming, herb, yoga. And many things I also don’t know. Anyway I think it is good to get to know what she loves and pursues it no matter what happen you will not give up your way- do her best, try everything she is eager to learn, not limit herself for taking risk, getting to know strangers and being anywhere she might get lost.

She is young, creative, brave and passionate. She has the creative perspective that normal people might ignore. She wants to be a role model of wellness society in the future once she gets back home.

I don’t judge her thought and expect to see her success because with this characteristic she can beat everything she face and get successful. She is achieving her dream, heart and soul.

ปิดเทอมนี้ไปไหนกันจ้า เด็กๆ

บ้านปันแสงชวนมาสนุกกับค่ายทักษะชีวิตกันจ้ะ มันคืออะไร ยังไงล่ะ

ค่ายนี้คืออะไร

เนื่องจากช่วงปิดเทอม เป็นช่วงที่น้องๆพักจากการเรียนอย่างเคร่งเครียดในโรงเรียน บางคนเรียนเพื่อทำเกรด บางคนเรียนตามหน้าที่ บางคนเรียนอย่างตั้งใจเพราะมีเป้าหมาย แต่น้อยคนนักที่จะรู้เป้าหมายของตัวเองและยังไม่ค้นหาตัวเองไม่เจอ การรู้ตั้งแต่ตอนเด็กๆนั้นจะทำให้เด็กๆรู้เป้าหมายของการเรียน เด็กๆจะมีแรงบันดาลใจ ใฝ่หาความรู้และสนใจในสิ่งที่ตัวเองชอบ วิธีการหนึ่งที่ได้ผลคือการค้นหาตัวเองผ่านกิจกรรมธรรมชาติกลางแจ้ง (outdoor education learning) เพราะเด็กๆได้สัมผัสประสบการณ์จริง ได้คิดค้น ทดลอง ค้นหา ซักถามและค้นหาคำตอบเอง สิ่งเหล่านี้จะทำให้เด็กๆภูมิใจในความพยายามของตนเอง จนนำไปสู่การค้นพบความชอบและความสามารถที่อาจจะมากกว่าที่เห็น

ทำไมถึงต้องมาค่ายนี้

- น้องๆจะได้ฝึกใช้ภาษาอังกฤษในชีวิตประจำวัน น้องบางคนเรียนในห้อง แต่ไม่กล้านำไปใช้จริง

- ฝึกความเป็นผู้นำ ผู้ตาม ผู้ชนะ และผู้เรียนรู้ (ไม่มีผู้แพ้ที่ล้มเหลวเสมอไป)

- ฝึกใช้ความคิดสร้างสรรค์ กล้าคิดวิเคราะห์และแก้ปัญหา

-เคารพธรรมชาติ เรียนรู้การใช้ชีวิตว่าเราเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของธรรมชาติและเกื้อกูลซึ่งกันและกัน

-ฝึกตั้งเป้าหมาย หากขาดแรงบันดาลใจและเป้าหมาย การเรียนรู้ก็คงไม่เกิดขึ้น

-ฝึกความรับผิดชอบต่อตัวเองและผู้อื่น น้องจะได้รับมอบหมายให้ช่วยกันทำความสะอาดและเก็บของให้เข้าที่หลังจัดกิจกรรม

-ฝึกวางแผน น้องๆจะได้ทำอาหารเย็นกินเอง จึงต้องฝึกฝนการจัดสรรทรัพยากรและการแบ่งปัน

เหมาะกับใคร

น้องๆอายุ 5-12 ปี ทั้งคนไทยและต่างชาติ จำนวนขั้นต่ำ 15 คน สูงสุด 20 คน หากผู้สมัครมีไม่ถึง 15 คน อาจจะขออนุญาตยกเลิกค่าย จะดำเนินการคืนเงินและแจ้งให้ทราบล่วงหน้า

ระยะเวลาการเข้าค่าย

Youth Leadership on Sustainable Development Goals (Feb 7-10, 2018)

Why was the camp important?
-Without the camp, the 11 Chinese youths would always think of themselves as a self-center and engage in too academic classes to compete their friends and did not care others. Being closed to the nature and with friends in different cultures can open their mindset and urge critical thinking, team building, communication skills, problem solving, leadership, passion and goal achievement.

-Building up supporting network and individual plan

What were out door activities ?
