ปันแสง ( light sharing) หมายถึง การแบ่งปันแสงอาทิตย์ซึ่งเป็นต้นกำเนิดของพลังงานและอาหารบนโลกใบนี้ เพราะทั้งดิน น้ำ ต้นไม้ ต่างต้องพึ่งพาแสงแดดเพื่อเจริญเติบโตออกดอกผล แต่ทุกอย่างไม่ได้เติบโตอย่างสวยงามและสมดุล เรากำลังเผชิญกับปัญหาความไม่มั่นคงทางอาหารและทรัพยากรเพราะการขาดความรู้ในการประโยชน์จากทรัพยากรให้คุ้มค่า อาทิเช่น ชาวนาทำการเกษตรบนที่ดินของตัวเองแต่กลับมีหนี้สินล้นพ้นตัว ส่วนคนที่มีฐานะปานกลางถึงดีมีโอกาสเข้าถึงอาหารและเงินมากแต่กลับกินทิ้งขว้าง จะเห็นได้ว่าเราใช้ทรัพยากรอย่างไม่สมดุล มีทรัพยากรมากมายที่ถูกทิ้งอย่างไร้ประโยชน์ทั้งๆที่ยังสามารถนำกลับมาใช้ใหม่ได้ เราจะยืนมองดูปัญหาให้เลวร้ายขึ้นหรือ มาช่วยกันลดช่องว่างของปัญหานี้ได้ด้วยการแปลงทรัพยากรเหล่านั้นให้มีค่าขึ้น และสร้างอาหารกินเองจากแสงแดดที่สร้างมาเพื่อทุกคน
Punsaeng (light sharing) means to spread sunlight, the origin of all living beings on earth. Sunlight is critical for soil, water and plant health. Bearing this in mind, our organization seeks to shed light on issues pertaining to the environment, society and key natural resources. Our communities are facing profound food security issues due to lack of resources. These crises are largely tied to a lack of education about resource management amongst farmers. Farmers are struggling to sustain themselves as agriculture is increasingly unprofitable. Meanwhile, middle and upper class people, who do not participate in the agricultural process, have steady access to food and waste a great deal of it. There is a critical imbalance between the rich and poor in regards to access to food and resources. Many resources are left without reuse and recycle. At Punsaeng, we are concerned with massive amounts of waste and inequality. Recycling and efforts to stem waste may serve as ways that we can work to spread the light of resource and food access to all.
